It's quite possible that this Hayden business is going to dominate the week, in which case, my gasoline posts may be mere spice in the stew. In any case, as gas approaches three bucks a gallon, it raises a number of fascinating subjects. For example, global warming has for the first time become regular news. It may well have passed a momentus tipping point, and I don't think the spike in gas prices are unrelated. There are alternative fuels to consider (ethanol, biodiesal, converted coal), CAFE standards, geopolitics, economics, political pandering--in short, a rich offering.
That is, of course, if the brewing constitutional crisis doesn't get in the way.
