Bush: He's Got Confidence in Me

Bush gave (or is giving?--I'm watching it on webcast, anyway) an amusing press conference today wherein he was aggressive about defending Gonzales. Really amusing. He was seriously pissed, and he clearly thinks this is a witch hunt designed to "score political points."

Transcript selections forthcoming.

Ides of March

As writ by Shagsbere, Bard of Stratford:
CAESAR.
Who is it in the press that calls on me?
I hear a tongue, shriller than all the music,
Cry "Caesar"! Speak, Caesar is turn'd to hear.

SOOTHSAYER.
Beware the Ides of March.

CAESAR.
What man is that?

BRUTUS.
A soothsayer bids you beware the Ides of March.

CAESAR.
Set him before me; let me see his face.

CASSIUS.
Fellow, come from the throng; look upon Caesar.

CAESAR.
What say'st thou to me now? Speak once again.

SOOTHSAYER.
Beware the Ides of March.

CAESAR.
He is a dreamer; let us leave him. Pass.
Merry Ides, one and all.

[Update: if you replace "CAESAR" with "GONZALES," this exchange has a different, but no less tingling-with-doom, feeling.]
