[Affaire du Bugman]

DeLay Indicted ... Again

Forget Harriet Miers, Tom DeLay just got indicted again! A fine how-do-you do that I hadda learn it from a commenter (thanks Absent). He's right:
A Texas grand jury indicted Rep. Tom DeLay on a new charge of money laundering Monday, less than a week after another grand jury leveled a conspiracy charge that forced DeLay to temporarily step down as House majority leader.
And this, for added amusement:
The new indictment came hours after DeLay's attorneys filed a request to dismiss the case.
Come on, DeLay, move to have the second one dismissed, too!

We need some new laws protecting our representatives' money laundering! It's a necessary function in today's go-get 'em political environment. You think it's easy coveting power and wealth at the expense of the common man? It's damn hard, and our hard-workin' leaders need a break!

I believe I heard on the radio that one of DeLay's defenses for this latest indictment will be that he can't have violated the law in question because it hadn't been passed yet. Dunno if it's true, but it seems like a de facto admission of shady dealings.
