Bouncing

"McCain leads Democrat Barack Obama by 50%-46% among registered voters, the Republican's biggest advantage since January and a turnaround from the USA TODAY poll taken just before the convention opened in St. Paul. Then, he lagged by 7 percentage points."
--Gallup, 9/8/08
The polls mean very little this week. We'll check back next week to see how they're settling down post-conventions. In one week, we saw a swing of 17 points in this poll alone despite the absence of any news. That's pretty much the definition of a convention bounce. (Other polls have registered this same trend, though Gallup's has the widest swing.)

I really, really hope that SP goes on The Daily Show. I mean, if McCain can make multiple appearances, we need to know that the potential-next-in-line can manage a bit of media savvy, right? Surely she can dredge up a bit of her old sportscasting skills and trade a few barbs with Jon Stewart. Although I'd love to see John Oliver roll-play a bit of Russia-Alaska International Relations. C'mon GOP, give us a chance to see her in action!
